The fire zone. Perfect alignment. Cook facing east. Water source at NE of kitchen. No remediation needed only maintenance.
North-West (Vayavya)
Acceptable secondary option. Vayu (wind) supports fire combustion. Minor remedies for fire-wind balance.
South
Workable with remedies. Excess fire concentration. Cook facing east, never south.
East
Fire conflicts with the zone's solar energy. Moderate remedies required.
West
Causes financial and digestive issues. Full remedy protocol needed.
North

Kitchen in NE (worst placement) remedy protocol
Apply all remedies. Consider relocation if possible over 12-24 months.
Install Helix directional remedy on the NE kitchen wall
The Helix system for NE kitchens uses a specific 8-arrow water-fire neutralisation configuration. This is the foundational remedy without which other interventions are largely ineffective.
Shift gas stove to SE corner of kitchen, cook facing east
Even within an NE kitchen, the fire element (stove) must occupy the SE corner of the kitchen interior. Cook while facing east. This creates a "SE-within-NE" microzone compensation.
Shift water source (sink, RO, water jug) to NE of kitchen
The water element goes in NE of the kitchen interior exactly opposite to the fire. Maintain 3-foot separation between stove and sink minimum. Never place them adjacent.
Paint kitchen in red, ochre, or warm earth tones
NE kitchens need warm colours to compensate for water-zone cooling. Avoid blue, green, or white. Terracotta tiles, red cabinet handles, and ochre wall paint all help strengthen the fire element in a compromised zone.
Hang an energised Agneya yantra on the south wall inside kitchen
Since the fire zone is displaced, strengthen Agni in the south-facing wall. Copper Agneya yantra, energised with Mars and Venus beej mantras on Tuesday or Friday.
Install copper pyramid on kitchen ceiling above stove
A 9-chip or 91-chip copper pyramid above the cooking area creates an upward energy vortex that partially offsets NE placement damage.
Perform daily Agni puja at sunrise
Light a small diya in the kitchen each morning before cooking. A 5-minute Agni mantra recitation reactivates the displaced fire element. Consistency over 40 days creates measurable shift.
Kitchen in SW, N, or W general remedy framework
Variations for the other problematic directions.
For SW kitchen: add water features outside kitchen (never inside)
The SW earth zone + kitchen fire creates earth-fire conflict. A small indoor fountain placed in the NE-adjacent living room (not inside kitchen) pulls earth excess outward. Also: perform monthly Pitra tarpan to address ancestral karmic friction that SW kitchens commonly trigger.
For N kitchen: install Kuber yantra in the NE of the home
North kitchen suppresses Kuber. Compensate by energising a Kuber yantra in the home's NE (not kitchen's NE). Weekly Thursday puja with yellow flowers and camphor.
For W kitchen: strengthen earth element inside kitchen
W kitchens cause digestive weakness. Use terracotta or stone pots for water storage, keep a small rock-salt bowl on the kitchen counter (replace weekly), and add brass utensils as primary cookware to anchor the fire-earth balance.
Universal: never place fridge in SE of kitchen
The fridge (water + electricity) must be in NW, N, or W of kitchen. An SE fridge short-circuits the fire zone. This applies regardless of your kitchen's overall room direction.
Universal: cooking facing east or north always
Regardless of which direction your kitchen is in, the cook must face east (preferred) or north while cooking. Never south (depletes cook's health) or west (financial leakage during cooking).
